The Los Angeles Housing Department (LAHD) and the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) are responsible for the enforcement of local land use regulations.
LAHD primarily investigates code violations (including Home-Sharing compliance) related to rental properties containing more than one dwelling unit, such as duplexes and apartment buildings, as well as properties with more than one single-family dwelling. LADBS is responsible for investigating code violations (including Home-Sharing compliance) for properties containing only one dwelling unit, in addition to commercial, industrial, and vacant buildings.
For more information on reporting code violations, visit the LAHD and LADBS websites.
